In 1958 Govt. High School Shahdara, Lahore City was established in a rented building. In 1971 Govt. of the Punjab constructed its main block. The school has total area of 47 Kanals & 8 Marlas. The school has historic eminence in the city of Lahore with an academic history spreading over 59 years. Role of honour includes Waseem Shoukat Ranjha (Bureaucrat), Rizwan Salabat (Bureaucrat), Abdul Razzaq (International Cricketer), Aqeel Abbas (International Player of Kabadi), Mian Mehmood Ahmad (Ex Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab (M.P.A)), Rana Iqbal Ahmad (Ex M.P.A, Chairman Local Body Punjab). The school has recently been declared as Center of Excellence on 08 June 2016 under umbrella of Punjab Daanish Schools & Centers of Excellence Authority.
Currently the school has 3 x main blocks. It has 36 x class rooms, one science lab, and one computer lab, 2 x play grounds, 2 halls and one mosque. School staff consists of 75 faculty members (64 academic and 11 non teaching staff). Currently the student strength in 1593 having eleven academic levels, from Prep to Grade 10.
PEC and Board exams results in previous years were quite encouraging. Last year PEC result was 98% whereas this year the result of PEC is 100 %. During 2015 the Board results of classes 9th and 10th were 42% & 70% respectively.
