Govt High School Baghbanpura, Lahore

Govt. High School Baghbanpura Lahore was established in 1854. It was declared High School in 1923. The school has historical prominence in the city of Lahore with the academic history spreading over 90 years. It is situated near famous Shalimar Gardens. The School has an area of 42 Kanals. The school has a long list of alumni, a few prominent figures include M. Rafi Khan (Ex. Additional Chief Secretary Punjab), Sheikh Asghar Ali (Registrar University of Engineering & Technology Lahore), Nasir Osman (Chief Engineer Planning NTDC), Wahid Latif (Chief Engineer NESCOM), Dr. Naeem (Dean of Law College University of Punjab), Chaoudhry M. Aashiq Diyal (Ex M.N.A), Sheikh Rohail Asghar (M.N.A), Iqbal Ahmad Khan (Ex Minister of Law), Brig Muhammad Akram (Retd), Dr. Ijaz Ahmad Butt (Eye Specialist), Chaoudhry M. Amin (D.E.O Narowal). The school has recently been declared as Center of Excellence on 08 June 2016 under umbrella of Punjab Daanish Schools & Centers of Excellence Authority.

Currently the school has 50 class rooms, one library, 4 x Labs (I.T, Chemistry, Physics, Biology) 6 x washrooms, mosque, 2 x playgrounds and one multipurpose hall. One playground has an area of 9 Kanals and the second one has an area of two Kanals. There are 1114 students in the elementary section and 1252 in the secondary section. Overall there are 2366 students. The school staff consists of 90 (77 academic staff and 13 non academic staff).

PEC and Board exams results in previous years were not very encouraging. Last year PEC result was 88% whereas this year the result of PEC is 61%. During 2014 & 2015 the Board results of class 9th were 25% and 32% whereas for class 10th was 77% and 78% respectively.
