Boys Campus

Center of Excellence Govt. Boys High School, Muzaffargarh was established in 1794 as a primary school by Nawab Muzafar Khan, Afghan Ruler of Multan. Later on it was captured by British Govt. and became a District Headquarters of English Government. Gradually, up gradations in school building and in academic achievements had been working out by different mentors of that time. Total area of school is spread over 30 kanals & 06 Marlas. The school has historical place in the city of Muzaffargarh with an academic history of over 221 years. It has some prominent figures on the roll of honors. A few to mention include 21st Chief Justice Supreme court Mr. Tassaduq Hussain Jelani, Nobel Prize winner Doctor Abdul Salam, Renowned TV Actor/Drama Artist Tauqeer Nasir, Additional I.G.P Quetta Ayub Qureshi, Additional Session Judge Izhar-ul-Haq Alvi. In 2010 after promulgation of the PDS & CEA Act, the school being one of the important institutions was nominated to be converted into Center of Excellence on the approval of Chief Minister Punjab and named as Center of Excellence Govt. Boys High School, Muzaffargarh under the umbrella of PDS & CEA.

The construction of the new building commenced in 2010 and was completed in 2014 at the cost of Rs. 103.540 Million. Today the school has 40 x class rooms, 6 x laboratories, a library, a praying area, and 3 x play grounds. For a competitive environment and uniform evaluation and in order to improve administration further, an additional academic/non academic staff including Assistant Admin Officer have been provided to the school.  

Lt. Col (R) Abdul Shakoor Rizvi took charge as a Principal in July 2015. However, presently Lt. Col Amir Waqas (Retd) assumed responsibility as Principal COE (Boys) Muzaffargarh, on 10 October 2015. School Council was converted into Governing Body and comprises 10 members. School staff consists of a total of 70 faculty members (57 academic and 20 non academic staff). Currently the student strength is 1020 having five academic levels, from grade six to Matric.

Last year the students of Center of Excellence Boys, Muzaffargarh appeared in one PEC and two Board Exams (9th and 10th) with pass percentages of 98.2%, 35% and 68% respectively. Center of Excellence Boys Muzaffargarh grabbed several positions at District and Tehsil levels this year in extra and co-curricular activities. The school was established as a primary school as envisaged in the Center of Excellence notification ultimate objective is to increase the levels from nursery to intermediate. For this purpose, a comprehensive planning is underway and will be instituted w.e.f the next academic year.

Like all other Centers of Excellences, Center of Excellence Govt. Boys High School, Muzaffargarh will be affiliated with the Lahore Board w.e.f 2016 onwards.

     
         
     
         

Girls Campus

Center of Excellence Govt. Girls Normal High School, Muzaffargarh was established in 1870 as a primary school by British Government. Later on it was upgraded as middle and high school in 1935 and 1938 respectively. Total area of school is 31 kanals & 10 Marlas. The school has historical place in the city of Muzaffargarh with an academic history spanning over 145 years. It has some prominent figures on the roll of honors. A few to mention include Mrs. Misbah Talat EDO Okara, Additional .I.G Ouetta Sir Ayub Qureshi, Additional Session Judge Sir Izhar-ul-Haq Alvi, Layyah and Dr. Sara Khan D.G.M (LTC).  In 2010 after promulgation of the PDS & CEA Act, the school being one of the important institutions was nominated to be converted into Center of Excellence on the approval of Chief Minister Punjab and named Center of Excellence Govt. Girls Normal High School, Muzaffargarh under the umbrella of PDS & CEA.

For a competitive environment and uniform evaluation and in order to improve administration further, an additional academic/non academic staff including Assistant Admin Officer has been provided to the school.  

Ms. Fozia Nishat took charge as Principal in 2010. However, Ms. Riffat Shahid assumed charge as Principal COE (Girls) Muzaffargarh, on 13 July 2015. School Council was converted into Governing Body comprised upon 10 members. School staff consists of total 74 faculty members (56 academic and 18 non academic staff). Currently the students’ strength is 1,824 having eleven academic levels, from grade Nursery to Matric.

In 2013, the students of Center of Excellence Girls, Muzaffargarh appeared in one PEC and two Board Exams (9th and 10th) with pass percentages 100%, 33% and 71.43%, while in 2014 achieved 100%, 34% and 71% and in last year grabbed 100%, 54% and 78% results respectively. Every year 5 or 6 students participate in PCB from Bahawalpur region. Three internationally recognized Athletes Fozia, Wajeeha and Shaista Qaiser got their secondary education from this institution. School got distinctive position at District and Tehsil levels for academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. As envisaged in the Center of Excellence notification ultimate objective is to increase the levels from nursery to intermediate.
